I am so excited to be part of the Herbal Winter Solstice Swap this year. All of us met over at the Poppy Swap forum (I sold my products there for a short while) and set up the swap. Last year, I missed out as there is a cap set for number of participants. So, myself along with 12 other talented herbalists, herbal skin care and body care manufacturers, tea makers, soap makers and other hand-crafters organized the swap for this year. It has been soo nice to receive special, high-quality gifts throughout the last month that will carry me through the winter with herbal goodness!
I am going to share the gifts that I received in this and upcoming posts, along with links if you like what you see!
Worts + Cunning Apothecary
First, I just need to say how much I love the packaging from Worts + Cunning Apothecary, with it’s earthy brown and gold feel, the very delicate and magical fonts and descriptions. I received three tea blends and an elixir from Alexis. All of the teas are so uniquely and creatively formulated. These are blends I would not have come up with. I love expanding my tea world! The Merriment elixir is “a marvelous remedy for….mundanity” and I really needed that this month! It is so tasty too, mint-chocolaty, as are all the teas. I’ve really been digging the Star of Yule :)
Check out the Worts + Cunning Apothecary for fully enchanted herbal remedies, a delightful blog and a really cool Morning Mischief e-book.
Two very useful, wildcrafted and expertly crafted tinctures came from Geko at Good4YouHerbals. Rosehips are super high in vitamin C- I’ve really been enjoying that this time of year. I’ve even used it as a face serum ;) Cleavers is a wonderful herbal to have on hand with any type of urinary imbalance. One of the really special things about both tinctures is that they come from wildcrafted plants- and the rosehips from very close to the sea. I love bringing some of that sea magic into my place here in the city!
Good4YouHerbals has all sorts of herbal products- from makeup, salves, tinctures, and a really sweet art book too.
Rosemary and Rue
Rosemary and Rue is an organic herbal apothecary owned by Cassandra and Matthew Hendrix. All of these gifts are so quaint and precious. I’ve enjoyed swapping out my soap bars for the hand soap for guests. The balms are both really refreshing for this time of year. And the dentifrice! It smells really nice and tastes great too. I have been enjoying putting some of the Herbal Sinus salve on just as a pick me up before I get to work! And using the Cinnamon & Myrrh salve is a nice perfume.
Rosemary and Rue creates an assortment of natural perfumes, body care and herbal items, now both online and in North Carolina at their own shop!
Stay tuned for Part II!!
